Cozy Sweater Coat for Every Day Sewing Pattern

Sew a relaxed cardigan coat and choose the length, pockets and finish that suit your wardrobe. Use woven fabric, a cosy blanket or quilted cloth for a very different look from the same base.

Six sizes cover body bust/chest measurements from 32–62 in / approximately 81–158 cm. The design includes generous positive ease: about 9–15 in / 23–38 cm for cardigan styling, with more room available for coat layering. The PDF explains length and sleeve changes, and the included guide offers further variations. Make a test version to check your preferred fit.

Medium- to heavyweight woven fabric or a stable knit with little stretch. Linen, canvas, wool, blankets and quilted fabric create different finishes. Fabric amount depends on size, width and chosen length; use the included charts. Sewing machine, thread, scissors, iron and optional bias binding, ties, buttons or other chosen closures.
